Hi, I had applied for a passport at Regional Passport Office three months ago, I have not yet received my passport despite several reminders.

Thousands of passports are issued by the passport office everyday. If all your documents were in order, you would not have faced any problems in getting a passport. Obviosuly something is amiss. Consult an expert to sort your problem out.
There was an error in my Date of Birth on the Passport and I tried for its correction. I even produced the High School certificate bearing my correct DOB but the RPO says that I have to brig orders from a First Class Magistrate directing the Passport Office to amend the DOB
Unfortunately, any attempt to make amendments in vital personal information such as date of birth is frowned upon by the Passport Office. Changing Date of Birth is one such exercise. If an error has been made by the Passport Office itself while issuing the Passport, then it will make the necessary correction without much hassels after verifying its records. But if the Application Form itself carried an error, then rectifying it will be a herculean task. Therefore our advice is to fill up the Application Form legibly in Capital letters, and double-check it before submitting the same.

I think the trick lies in filling up the Application Form properly and slightest errors or ommissions can cause lot of problems.

You are required to use colour photographs with white background with your passport application. Bear this in mind.
